Kanye West Enters Crypto with YZY Token
Rapper Kanye West, now called Ye, has made a big move with his new coin. The Kanye West YZY token on Solana is part of a plan to build a new online money system. He shared the news on Aug. 21 in a post on X. Ye called it the start of a “new economy, built on chain.”
The YZY coin, seen as a memecoin, took off fast. Its value first jumped to $3.2 billion, but later dropped to about $1.3 billion. This fast rise and fall shows the wild nature of digital currency and crypto hype.
YZY Money Plans: Ye Pay and YZY Card
The YZY token is the main part of a bigger project called YZY Money. This system has Ye Pay, a tool for crypto payments, and YZY Card, which works worldwide with YZY and USDC. Ye says this will cut costs for shops that pay high card fees.
The goal is to build a fair money system and push more people to use crypto and Solana blockchain for payments and trade.
YZY Token Setup
YZY uses a setup of public shares, locked reserves, and long-term plans tied to Yeezy Investments LLC. The rules are all open and checked on-chain through a tool called Jupiter Lock.
To stop unfair bots, the team made 25 test contracts, but only one became the real YZY coin. This trick was made to keep the launch fair for small traders.

Some experts saw odd moves in the YZY launch. Reports show that some wallets may have known the right contract early, letting them buy coins first. One wallet even tried to buy YZY a day before launch.
Right now, YZY trades on Solana’s Meteora platform with its own pool. But the big price swings on day one show the risks of celebrity-backed crypto launches.
